The Work We Take On
We work on residential garage doors and openers - broken torsion and extension springs, off-track panels, worn rollers and cables, opener repair and replacement, and full door swaps. A lot of what comes through our line is tied to the age of the housing stock around here: much of Glendale and the surrounding named areas were built between 1943 and 2012, with the median home dating to 1958. That means a steady stream of original hardware - steel doors on side-mounted torsion setups, openers with chain drives long past their service life, and sectional doors with hinges that were never meant to last seventy years.
We don't do commercial rolling steel doors or gate systems, and we're straightforward about that on the phone before you wait around for a truck that isn't coming. If your door is a fit for what we do, we can usually tell you a lot over the phone or from a couple of photos - but a firm number almost always needs a look at the actual spring size, track condition, and opener model in your garage. Quoting a torsion spring by ear is how a homeowner ends up with the wrong part installed twice.

When you call, the fastest way to get an accurate number is to have a few things ready: the door's approximate age (or the age of the house, since so much of the stock here dates to the 1950s and 60s), whether it's a single or double door, what's actually going wrong - won't open, off track, spring snapped, opener grinding - and whether you've had any work done on it before. If you can send a photo of the springs above the door and the opener unit, that alone often gets us most of the way to a real quote instead of a range.

Glendale's housing sits in a mild temperate climate band, which is easier on garage door hardware than a lot of the country sees - less freeze-thaw stress on springs and less humidity swelling wood panels. That doesn't mean nothing wears out.
